Distances

The camera spans the lake and the hillock
And a tiny figure hunched amid the boulders
With black-brown creatures gently floating
As black silence of presence hung over him.
Their woolly silence had come from the hills
Its wings flapping, noises feeling like night.
The camera shies away from  their shadows
Feeling their overwhelming presence in him.
