Salt

Instead of a man we now have a little salt
In the pans of the lagoon there somewhere
Remembering the dunes they had made
For scooping spoonfuls of salt into hearts.

In the darkest wastes of the night the salt
Took this man unaware, blinking at the stars.
They were salt grains on the sea of the sky.
